"Over the years, I have been involved in the development and production of some of the most popular tournament-style, Jissengata Kendo Bogu sets in the world. I have even seen some of the sets I worked on being used by Kenshi across the globe, and even in some of the world's most prestigious tournaments. Now, drawing on that experience, I have been able to hand-pick the very best, beneficial features, that make for the perfect Jissengata Bogu, and I am extremely proud to present what I believe to be the best Bogu set for competitive Kenshi ever made - ISAMU.
Using the best available materials, and drawing on the skills of expert craftsmen, we produced the first prototypes, and immediately had them tested by some of Japan's elite level competitive Kendoka, including members of the Japanese national team, and challengers of the All Japan Kendo Championships. Using their feedback, and advice, we were able to fine-tune the design, and developed a new formula for constructing the Bogu's padded Futon. Of course, the strike zones retain a good level of thickness, to provide protection. However, the secondary areas, such as the Mendare, and the Tare panels feature a Futon that is much thinner and softer, but extremely easy to mould into an attractive shape.
Since completing the development of ISAMU, and being a competitive Kendoka myself, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that this is - by far - the best Jissengata style Bogu set in the world today." - Andy Fisher, KendoStar CEO
ISAMU is the perfect option for those looking for a Bogu set that is extremely lightweight, whilst at the same time being extremely durable, and comfortable. Using a super-lightweight Futon (padding), and distinct CrossPitch Stitching, which covers the Bogu to maximize durability. CrossPitch stitching is a unique take on regular 'Pitch-zashi', where the stitches are longer, to provide better padding and flexibility, however, the stitches run in both directions on the Futon - both horizontally and vertically. This not only helps the Bogu form tiny 'cushions' across the Futon, but it also boosts durability dramatically.
