  • RED ARROW is our new practice Shinai, made from toughened 'AO-DAKE' Bamboo. 'AO-DAKE' means 'Green Bamboo' and is different to regular bamboo used in Shinai production due to the drying process used when it is refined. Whereas regular bamboo is steamed or boiled and then dried, AO-DAKE is not, and is dried for a much longer time in the natural shade. This leaves a darker, more natural colour, and the surface 'skin' of the bamboo is left intact - hence the name Green Bamboo. This takes much longer than the regular method, so AO-DAKE is a rare material for Shinai use, however, it is thought to be somewhat stronger, and gives more durability.

BRAND NEW!

RED ARROW is our new practice Shinai, made from toughened 'AO-DAKE' Bamboo.

RED ARROW has been specifically designed to be a great choice for your regular practice, with an all-round balance, with enough thickness in the tip for good durability.

Perfect for those looking for workhorse Shinai for regular practice, or for beginners at Kendo looking for strong, reliable Shinai.
